यहां मुख्य मन्दिर के बराबर में ही एक गुफा है। इस गुफा में सालों से एक महाराज जी रहते हैं। वे कभी नीचे नहीं जाते, सर्दियों में कपाट बन्द होने के बाद भी। अकेले ही रहते हैं। कहा जाता है कि नीचे जाना तो दूर, उन्होने कभी सामने बहती यमुना को भी पार नहीं किया है। कुछ भक्तों ने उस गुफा के सामने मन्दिर भी बनवा दिया है। महाराज उसी में रहते हैं, खुद बनाते हैं, खाते हैं। बाद में अगले दिन मैने उनकी फोटो लेनी चाही तो उन्होने मना कर दिया। तो मैने उनका फोटो लिया ही नहीं। आज जब कोई नहीं दिखा तो मैं उनके पास ही पहुंचा –“बाबा, आज रुकने के लिये कोई कमरा मिल जायेगा क्या यहां?” बोले कि मिल जायेगा, अभी थोडी देर सामने खडे होकर कुदरत का मजा लो।

On our way to Kudremukh, we happened to spot this beautiful little Ganapathi temple amidst lush green tea gardens at a village named Samse, 6 kms from Kalasa.
We drove further and a km later, reached Kudremukh National Park Checkpost. On giving the details of our vehicle and its passengers to the officer at the checkpost, we were issued a receipt indicating both our entry time and the time by which we had to exit the park at the western side of the reserve.

From the Editor – What Kept us Busy!

Anyways, you all know that the team at Ghumakkar is pretty busy preparing the stories and managing your content on Ghumakkar. But we do make some mistakes. After all, we are all human. However, we had beeen brainstorming for a really long time to see how we can minimise the mistakes and we were pretty convinced that if one of the top publishing house in India was running this site, our work would be cut down to the minimum and then we can concentrate on other things. We identified the publishing house that we would like to associate with and then approached them. It was a tough job, but our brilliant marketing team finally convinced the publishing house that it was a win-win situation. So the deal is that they manage the post-preparation and publishing part of the job and in exchange, they use some of the real estate on Ghumakkar to post their own content.
