Write for Ghumakkar

The 2-minute, instant recipe for a great post!

Welcome to Ghumakkar! We encourage you to write, and make your beautiful travel memories timeless. From family trips to fantasy parks to an all-adventure, rough-out trek in the Himalayas, to honest faith-driven annual pilgrimages, to the memories of travel with your arch-rival colleagues from work – anything that brings alive the spirit and body of travel is eligible!
Send in your story: Please e-mail your story to smitadhall@gmail.com in a word document. We would need at least a 1000 words and 8 photos (1024 pixels wide preferably). In your email submissions, please do not embed photos in the word document, instead attach either as a single .zip file or as separate files. Do add captions and placeholders for each picture in your story to help us with photo placements. This helps us in inserting the photos at appropriate positions in the post. As we receive your story, we promise to get back.

Yes, it is as simple as that! And then once you get started, there are a few parameters to follow:

Story and Comment Guidelines

We like posts that are original in content. We are seeking information and experiences that would help the readers to learn more about traveling to new and old places, and exchange memories that inspire the travel community at large. And your  honest travel tales help. We do not publish travelogs with marketing or promotional intent and earnestly request you to stay safe of sensitive and vulnerable topics.

Photos need to be original. In case of borrowed images, we request you to add the due credit to the source, after seeking their approval to publish. If you do not have pictures then you may take help of http://www.wikimedia.org.

We crave for feedback. The stories on Ghumakkar are open to the readers for their sincere and heartfelt comments. We request you to be responsible about the language and tone while commenting. We do not accept harsh, offensive, abusive or provocative comments. Constructive criticism is expected and respected. If you find any such comments that have missed our attention, we request you to bring it to our notice and we would take the most appropriate action, promptly.

We truly believe that traveling builds tolerance. Tolerance builds peace. One trip at a time. Start traveling and share your experience. We are eagerly waiting to publish your post!
