लद्दाख यात्रा – > नोएडा – बिलासपुर – मंडी – मनाली

खेर बहुत बड़ी बला टली और 5 मिनट चलने के बाद “Haveli” आ गयी और हमने गाड़ी पार्किंग में लगा दी। अंकल के साथ गाड़ी का बाहरी निरक्षण किया गया एक भी खरोंच नहीं थी, ऐसा लगा की सारा झटका Xylo के शौकर और कमानियों ने झेल लिया था। अंकल ने कहा की अगर इंजन मे कोई लीकेज होगी तो पता चल जाएगा क्योंकि हम वहां पर 30 मिनट के लिए रुकने वाले थे। हम चारों “Haveli” के अंदर चल दिए, पर अंकल अभी भी गाड़ी के निरक्षण मे लगे हुए थे। इस घटना को याद करते तो पहले तो हम सहम से जाते पर कुछ समय के बाद ये एक मज़ाक का विषय बन चुका था। इसका जिक्र आते ही ज़ोरों की हंसी आती थी क्योंकि अभी तो ट्रिप शुरू ही हुई थी और अंकल तो इसका अंत करने ही वाले थे। आगे के पूरे रास्ते हम यही सोच कर बहुत हँसे थे। हमने यहाँ पर कुछ नहीं खाया। सब फ्रेश होकर गाड़ी के ओर चल पड़े और अंकल से कहा कि अब सीधे रात्री मे भोजन ही करेंगे।

यह सोच कर हम आगे निकल पड़े। अम्बाला से कुछ दूर पहले ही नज़र “Liquor” शॉप पर जा पड़ी। गाड़ी को रुकने का आदेश दिया गया और “Haveli” से पहले हुए कांड का अफ़सोस मनाते हुए मूड बनाया गया। यहीं पर अंकल की एक खासियत का पता चला, ट्रांसपोर्ट लाइन मे होने के बावजूद वो मदिरा का सेवन नहीं करते थे और सुद्ध साकाहारी थे। ये सुनकर हम लोगों की खुशी दुगनी हो गई और हम अपनी बाकि बची हुई यात्रा को लेकर निश्चिंत हो गए थे। आजकल ऐसे ड्राईवर कम ही मिला करते हैं। यहाँ पर थोड़ा टाइम बिताने के बाद हम लोग अम्बाला से पहले ही अंकल ने एक U-Turn ले लिया और बोले की हम जाटवर, बरवाला, रामगढ़ होते हुए पिंजौर पहुँच जाएँगे। हम सबने कहा जैसी आपकी इच्छा “अंकल”। रात के 10 बज चुके थे हमने पिंजौर में रुक कर खाना खाया, अंकल को बोला की गाड़ी मे जो pizza पड़ा है वो ले आओ। अंकल बोले बेटा वो तो मैंने खा लिया है। अंकल के सामने किसी ने कोई आपत्ती नहीं जताई। लेकिन बाद में ये भी एक joke बनके रह गया क्यूंकि अंकल ने बड़े शान से कहा था “में pizza नहीं खाता, हम तो सादी रोटी खाने वाले इंसान हैं”। हम आगे बद्दी, बिलासपुर, सुंदरनगर, मंडी, कुल्लू होते हुए मनाली जाने वाले थे और अंदाजन दोपहर के 12 या 1 बजे तक पहुँचने वाले थे। खाने के सबने सोचा की यहीं रूम लेकर सो जाते हैं। दो-दो का ग्रुप बना कर हम लोग रूम देखने चले गए। रूम रेंट यहाँ पर बहुत ज्यादा था। सिर्फ 5-6 घंटे की ही तो बात थी। क्यूंकि हम अगली सुबह जल्दी ही निकलने वाले थे। होता वही है जो होना होता है, सबने बिना रुके आगे चलने का फ़ैसला किया। यहाँ से थोड़ी देर बाद हम बद्दी पहुँच गए। नालागढ़ के आस-पास ही गाड़ी रुकवा कर चाय पी। अभी भी हमे 255km आगे मनाली तक जा कर 10-सितम्बर की रात वहीं बितानी थी। बद्दी के बाद हम चारों गहरी नींद मे चले गए।

केदारनाथ, बद्रीनाथ और हेमकुंड साहिब यात्रा तथा दर्शन रिपोर्ट – भाग 1 : अम्बाला- ऋषिकेश

हमारा पहली रात ऋषिकेश में रुकने का प्रोग्राम था जो अम्बाला से सीधे सिर्फ 200 किलोमीटर है। यानि की हमारे पास काफी समय था और इसलिए हमने रास्ते में जाते हुए पोंटा साहिब और मसूरी में केम्पटी फॉल जाने का निश्चय किया।इस रास्ते से ऋषिकेश 50 -60 किलोमीटर ज्यादा पड़ रहा था लेकिन दो महत्वपूर्ण स्थान भी कवर हो रहे थे ।सभी लोगों से कहा गया की पहले दिन का लंच घर से लेकर आयें ,इसके अलावा हमने काफी बिस्कुट और स्नैक रास्ते के लिए खरीद लिए ।और आखिरकार 11 जून 2011 , दिन शनिवार आ ही गया । सभी लोग तैयार होकर पहले से निश्चित स्थान पर मिलते रहे और गाड़ी में सवार होते गए .लेकिन अभी सीटी साहेब नहीं पहुचे थे । हमने गाड़ी को महेश नगर में रुकवा कर उसका इन्तज़ार शुरु किया। हम पिछले एक घन्टे से उसे फोन कर रहे थे ताकि वो लेट ना हो जाये और अब तो उसने फोन उठाना भी बन्द कर दिया, घर पर फोन किया तो बताया कि चले गये हैं, लेकिन गाड़ी पर नहीं पहुचे जबकि सिर्फ़ 3-4 मिनट का रास्ता था । हमें ( मुझे और सुशील को ) मालूम था कि अभी वो तैयार नहीं हुआ होगा क्योंकि वो हमारा बचपन से दोस्त है और हम उसकी रग रग से वाकिफ़ हैं। हम सबको काफ़ी गुस्सा आ रहा था, अरे जब सात लोग एक आठवें की काफ़ी देर इन्तज़ार करेंगें तो गुस्सा आयेगा ही। हमने यह निर्णय लिया कि यदि वो 8:30 तक नहीं आया तो हम उसे छोड़ कर चले जायेंगे और वो पठठा पूरे 8:28 पर वहाँ पहुँच गया और वो भी अकेले नहीं ,साथ में अपने 9-10 साल के बेटे को भी यात्रा के लिये ले आया। हम उसका स्वागत गालियों से करने को तैयार बैठे थे लेकिन उसके बेटे के कारण वैसा ना कर पाये। लेकिन फिर भी उसका ‘यथायोग्य’ स्वागत किया गया।

लगभग सुबह 8:30 पर हम अम्बाला से पोंटा साहिब के लिए निकल गए। अम्बाला से पोंटा साहिब की दुरी 100 किलोमीटर है और हम मौज मस्ती करते हुए 10 :30 तक पोंटा साहिब पहुँच गए ।

(पांवटा साहिब हिमाचल प्रदेश के सिरमौर जिले के दक्षिण में एक सुंदर शहर है।राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 72 इस शहर के मध्य से चला जाता है।यह सिखों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक स्थल और एक औद्योगिक शहर है। गुरुद्वारा पौंटा साहिब, पौंटा साहिब में प्रख्यात गुरुद्वारा है।सिखों के दसवें गुरु, गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी की स्मृति में पौंटा साहिब के गुरुद्वारे को बनाया गया था। दशम ग्रंथ, गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी द्वारा यहीं लिखा गया था। इस तथ्य की वजह से इस गुरुद्वारे को विश्व भर में सिख धर्म के अनुयायियों के बीच ऐतिहासिक और बहुत ही उच्च धार्मिक महत्व प्राप्त है। )

This place is located nearly 1364 Meter above the sea level . The Kempty Falls, surrounded by high mountain ranges and located at a high altitude of 4500 feet, is a good place for picnic or for spending a couple of hours listening to the music of water in the midst of the Greenery which cover the surroundings This waterfall attracts many tourists particularly from plain areas. Located at a distance of 15 KM from Mussoorie town , it can be visited by conducted tour or by taking a shared taxi near Gandhi chowk taxi stand. We opted for shared taxi.

We were really not sure what 6000 ft actually means, so after every 10-15 minutes we used to think Mussorie has come. But we were still not at Mussorie. Then at one particular point we saw a board Mussorie welcomes you and after sometime we reached at a place where there was number of taxi and it was the last point i.e. Mussorie. Weather was now little cold. We had covered our son with sweater and shawl and got down from taxi. We asked for the route to our hotel and a taxi person guided us to a staircase and then to the road. We paid charges to Taxi and was carrying our luggage.

मुबारक मंडी महल की वास्तुकला में राजस्थानी , मुग़ल और यूरोपीयन शैली का समन्वय देखा जा सकता है। इस महल का इतिहास लगभग 150 वर्ष पुराना है। यह महल डोगरा राजाओं का शाही आवास था। इस स्थान पर हम लोग समय अभाव के कारण जा नहीं पाए थे. यह फोटो मैंने दूर से बागे बाहू से लिया था. 

बाहू के किले में माता के दर्शन करने के बाद, वंहा से निकल कर यंहा से नीचे की और बने मछली घर और बागे बाहू गार्डन की और आ जाते हैं. मछलीघर एक शानदार एक्वेरियम बना हुआ हैं. जो की जमीन के नीचे हैं.  इसका प्रवेश द्वार एक बड़ी मछली  के रूप में बना हुआ हैं. यंहा पर दुनिया में पाई जाने वाली विभिन्न प्रकार की मछलियों को प्रदर्शित किया गया हैं. यंहा पर भी फोटो खींचना निषेध हैं.

A trip to Mewar, Raj – Jaipur Once again

painting section: Second floor of this magnificent museum consisted of some rare books on display and a series of Raagmala paintings on display.These paintings are based upon different Ragas and Raginis of Indian classical music system. Different types of Raagmala series have been painted in different parts. Pahari style, Deccan style, Rajputana style. Each Raga is personified by a specific color, mood , time of its singing is mentioned on the painting and a story is told about a Nayak and a Nayika. I had read about tese paintings but was seeing these for the first time. I also had the privilege to see the paintings based upon stories from Hitopdesha and Panchtantra.  Just beautiful. Another surprise for me was the the presence of classic book JANGNAMA by Shah Muhammad(original).

Overall we spent about 2 hours in the museum and were tired. The big walls of this museum are adorned by the life like portraits of erstwhile kings of Jaipur state. Now was the time to have some snacks for the evening and visit the famous zoo of Jaipur, if not so big then not too small also. Dear Pavani’s desire was to have a look at the lion and the tiger which was duly fulfilled here.

THE ZOO: The desire was of Pavani was duly fulfilled as the first cage in the zoo was that of Leopard and next to it lay the cage of Tiger (wish double fulfilled).

A trip to Mewar, Raj – Pushkar and Jaipur

A small and picterusque town famous for one and onky temple of Brahma Ji, the town is also famous for the foreigners coming to the time to learn Yoga and instrumental music in the streets of Pushkar and numerous cafes adorning the streets. I can vouch for only temple perhaps my main motive was that only so I did,nt bother to look out for the guests from abroad or cafes. After inquiring my way to the temple of Brahma Ji, I straight away drove in that direction until I reached the place where Ghats were located. I thought may be temple is located in the centre of the sarovar there. So we all went towards the Ghat area and the thing that I  wanted to avoid at all costs followed us , hounding by various priests(pandas to have one or other form of puja for salvation of soul. As a person I m dead against these things as it seems to me more as an economic activity of these priests, nothing more(my personal opinion). Many persons were involved there in one or other ceremonies per their beliefs. But I did,nt want to listen to these priests about all this. One priest said “Unless you take bath in these Ghats and perform a puja your visit to Brahma temple would be incomplete” Why so? I just asked myself. After enquiring again about the temple from a family , we came to know that it was just on the next end of the street. I just pulled my family members from there hearing this. While walking towards the temple, in one corner , there was a small shop(PANDIT JI KI LASSI). Iski story baad mein bataoonga.

A trip to Mewar – Haldighati

How one could forget  the deep loyalty of Chetak towards its master when in todays time loyalty is missing amongst the human beings. We were also thrilled to find so many peacocks in that area. It was just beautiful. I had never dreamt of visiting the famous Haldi Ghati battlefield site that also along with my closest kith and kin and that also driving my own car. After a few minutes we were on highway and from there Nathdwara town was about 4 km towards left. The beautiful evening was soon on the verge of merging with the queen of night as it was winters though the time was just about 5.20 p.m. Mausam khushgawar tha,door ghar baar tha , main apni car mein sawar tha aur kuchh hi doori par Srinath ji ka dwar tha. And the song playing in my mind at that time was yaara sili sili birha ki raat ka jalna from the movie Lekin. Lekin kyu….. pata nahin.

The entry to Sarchu was amazing. After crossing the curvy path of mountains and snow, one suddenly comes across a vast plain between the high mountains but with little snow cover. There are gorges on one side where a thin stream of Yunam river flows. These gorges have very strange formations which look like pointed erections, possibly caused by wind erosion. The place is bone dry with cracks appearing in the soil with little precipitation even in severe winter when temperatures plummet below -30 degC. However, the place is very windy with wind velocities possibly approaching 40-50 Km/hr making the temperatures feel subzero despite actual temperature being about 5-10 degC. Here, no one lives permanently except a few Army settlements. Reception of cell phone is nonexistent and one really need to live like nomads. We found a camping site where we stayed in the camps. These camps serve you food and bedding and some of them also provide toilets which is indeed a luxury at this place (exposing your bum to morning frost is no fun :) ).

A Road Trip to Enchanting Mukteshwar

With all the theoretical knowledge collected through blogs, we had few recommended names for our stay. We started having a look on hotels. First and the very pleasing one was MT- Mountain Trail. Ambiance/view here was awesome. After discussing about the tariffs we moved on to other hotels. We were more concerned for a captivating view rather than the tariffs. We went ahead to few more lodges along with PWD Guest house. But, we had already lost our hearts to MT. So we called back the manager and asked him to book 2 rooms for us.

We parked our car near the entrance of Mukteshwar temple and started taking a walk towards the main tourist attraction point “Chauli ki jali”. After putting in few efforts in climbing the rocks we finally reached on the top of the cliff. The cliff gave a splendid panoramic view of snow-white Himalayan ranges. Captured the “Orange- setting Sun”, did some archery. As it was getting late and the temperature started dropping with Sun, instead of going for Rock climbing we opted to just give a pose :)
