Being the nature lover’s that we are, we first went for a walk on Camel’s Back road. Camel’s Back road is a long winding road frequented by nature lovers who visit this place for their morning and evening walks. Unlike the Mall road, this was a much better place. It was calm and the views of the Himalayas were breathtaking. As the skies were clear, the snow-capped peaks could be seen clearly. Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are some of the peaks that are visible from Camel’s Back road.

We both decided to ride for about 100 KM further on the hills towards New Tehri to have a look at the Tehri Dam and the huge man made lake it had created. We reached New Tehri at around 8:30 AM. It was a beautiful morning. We spent about an hour at New Tehri and Vishal clicked a few pictures.

Every year it easily takes about 8hrs to reach there. But this time 5hrs was only possible beacuse of the improved road conditions. After reaching my grandparents place, got freshned for lunch. I was dead tired as I did not sleep the previous night, above this the fever and throat infection and then driving. But still “Itni Door Ghar pe Baithne Ke liye Thoda na aaye Hain”. For Mussorie, one would take the normal route via Meerut, Muzzaffarnagar but our driver was special and he wanted us to not only savor the beauties of Mussorie but en route he intended to show us the barren landscapes of U.P. So instead of the regular route he started towards Sonepat, Barot, Shamli. When I asked him, he said this was a shorter route.
