The Kullu Valley, as all places in the Himalayas showcases natures beauty. It lies between Manali and Largi. The River Beas runs through this charming valley beckoning trekkers, nature lovers, artists and all those who would love to experience fresh mountain air amidst forests of Pine and Deodar and apple orchards.
Kullu has its share of exquisite temples, heritage buildings and sightseeing places like Raghunathji Temple, Bijli Mahadev Temple, Sultanpur Palace, Sujanpur Fort, Deo Tibba to name a few. For those who would like a more activity filled holiday, Kullu offers opportunities for climbing, trekking and river rafting in the months from March to September. December to February is ideal for snow skiing and heli-skiing in Manali. Kullu is also famous for its hand woven shawls and Kullu caps. Kullu is well connected by rail, road and air.

So following our original plan to cover Bijli Mahadev, Rewalsar Lake, Shikari Devi, Kamru Nag Lake, Karsog, Tattapani, we reached Kullu on the morning of 30 July’11. स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार आकाश से गिरने वाली जोरदार बिजली भगवान महादेव के इस मंदिर में विराजमान पवित्र शिवलिंग पर गिरती है, जो इस पवित्र शिवलिंग को टुकड़ों में बिखेर देती है। बिजली से खंडित हुए शिवलिंग के आसपास गिरे टुकड़ों को एकत्रित करके मंदिर के पुजारी मक्खन की सहायता से शिवलिंग के टुकड़ों को फिर से शिवलिंग के आकर में जोड़ देते है. कुछ समय के पश्चात् चमत्कारी रूप से शिवलिंग अपने आप पहले की तरह पूर्ण रूप में परिवर्तित हो जाता है।
