दिल्ली से कैंची धाम और नैनीताल की यात्रा दो दिनो मैं

कैंची धाम पहुँच कर के वहाँ पहाड़ी नींबू का शर्बत पिया और मंदिर मैं जा कर के थोड़ी देर मंदिर परिसर मैं बाबा के आसन के पास बैठा रहा, मैं जब वहाँ मंदिर परिसर मैं बैठा हुआ था तो मन मैं शांति का एहसास हो रहा था और बिलकुल भी इच्छा नहीं हो रही थी की मैं वहाँ से जाऊँ, पहले सोचा था की मंदिर परिसर मैं सिर्फ 10 मिनट तक रहूँगा लेकिन मैं उससे काफी ज़्यादा समय तक वहीं रहा और नहीं जानता कितनी देर तक बस वहाँ बैठ कर के मैं उस शांति के एहसास को महसूस कर रहा था, लेकिन मुझे वहाँ से चलना ही था मेरे पास समय की कमी थी शायद कभी मैं वहाँ फिर जा कर के एक या दो दिनो तक का समय बिताऊँ।

Ruins Of Alamparai Fort on East Coast Highway

We were not ready for the pathetic state the Alamparai fort was in. As per Archaeological survey of India board it was built some time in 17^th century and was a trading post during the Mughal period and changed hands many times between various powers till India got independence. What appears is that after independence the fort totally lost its significance as a trading outpost as more modern Chennai and other ports in South India gained prominence.

The fort though in a very scenic location, near a natural lagoon and the adjoining village is inhabited by fishermen. But the fort is an example of the pathetic attitude we have towards our historical monuments. Full of sand in a very bad shape the fort is more of ruins and a source of bricks for the locals than anything else. There was not a single guard or tourist beside us, though we saw some bikes parked near the entrance which instead of a magnificent gate like most forts was just a big gaping hole in the wall. The parapet was broken at many places and one portion of the wall was lying on the ground. The whole wall had hundreds of bushes growing on it and at many places bricks were missing. It appeared they were being regularly removed by locals to construct their homes.

परन्तु मुझे आकर्षित किया उनके केलों ने. खूब सुन्दर और पुष्ट केले थे. मुझे केले खरीदता देख कर एक स्त्री ने मुझे समझाया कि मैं खीरे ले लूं और केले छोड़ दूँ. पर मैं कहाँ मानने वाला था. बस जैसे ही मैंने केले ख़रीदे, वृक्षों की डालों से तेजी-से उतर कर करीबन २०-२५ बंदरों ने मुझे घेर लिया. घबरा कर मैंने केले वहीँ जमीन पर फेंके, जो क्षण-भर में ही बंदरों द्वारा लूट लिए गए. अब उस डंडे से लैस व्यक्ति ने बंदरों को भगाने के लिए डंडा भाजना शुरू किया. बन्दर भाग गए. अब यह तो नहीं पता कि डंडे से भागे या केले चट कर के भागे. मैंने उन दोनों स्त्रियों को समझाने की कोशिश की कि जब यहाँ बंदरों का उत्पात है तो केले बेचते ही क्यों हो. दोनों स्त्रियाँ मुस्कुरायीं क्योंकि आज उन्हें एक और शहरी आदमी मिला था, जो जंगल में बिना देखे चलता था.

I know swimming very well in flowing water so thinking to swim inside Ganga without hold any chain in hand, so I walked till last bridge and suddenly jumped inside.

Peoples were surprised and thinking that someone has fallen inside Ganga, but they relaxed when saw that I was swimming. After I came out from Ganga, many people’s told me that to not dare do it but I know my limit so I told them not worry about it.

Leaving Thimphu, on to Paro, Bhutan

Paro is the most gorgeous city in the whole of Bhutan; and far more beautiful than Thimphu (wondering why the king does not stay here). It has the only International Airport in the country, and situated on the bank on Paro River, surrounded by hills. Before reaching to Paro city, we met Paro River on the way and fell in love with it. We immediately stopped the car, got down and went inside a downstream.

सुरक्षा-जाँच वाले कमरे की छत से जो रौशनी की बल्ब्स लटक रहे थे, उनकी डिजाईन देखने योग्य थी. जाँच के पश्चात पैगोडा की निचली मंजिल पर पहुंचे, जहाँ देखने के लिए कई स्थल थे. सीढ़ी के दोनों तरफ कलात्मक चबूतरे थे. एक चबूतरे पर बड़ा-सा घंटा लिए हुए मनुष्यों की प्रतिमाएं थीं और दुसरे चबूतरे पर घरियाल लिए हुए मनुष्यों की प्रतिमाएं थीं. इसलिए पहले को Bell-tower और दुसरे को Gong-tower कहा जाता था. यह दोनों स्थल लोगों में बहुत प्रिय थे क्योंकि इन पर चढ़ना मना नहीं था. लोग इन पर चढ़ कर अपनी सेल्फी ले सकते थे और साथ ही इन्हें बजा भी सकते थे.

A Triad in Time – Gharapuri, Ambarnath and Pataleshwar

The most important sculpture here is the Trimutri, 3 faces of Mahadev which have found its space on Maharashtra tourism logo as well. Nearly full length of wall, the faces are very skilfully carved. Point to note that this is not a sculpture of Trimurti – Brahma , Vishnu and Mahesh but these are faces of Shiva only. There has been tradition to carve faces on Shivling as well. And based on number of faces, the shivling gets the name from Ekmukhi to Panchmukhi.
Although the common man thinks these are 3 faces, the experts have always more to add. Stella Kramrisch is one such expert in Indian iconography. She has proven that these are not 3 but 5 faces. There are distinct names to each of the face and it really represents the attribute of colorful character of Shiva. Five faces of Shiva represent five elements, Ishana (sky), Tatpurusha (wind), Aghora (fire), Vamadeva (water) and Sadjoyata (earth) and together this depiction is called as Sadashiv as per iconography. We see three faces and there is one assumed to be behind and one on top.

To Thimphu, Bhutan by Road from India

The international Boarder between India and Bhutan is shared by Jaigaon in India and Phuntsholing in Bhutan.

There is free access between these two places, however you are required to get permit to move beyond Phuntsholing. After an hour of journey, the view besides the road began to change and after crossing large fields, tea estates appeared. Total journey was about five hours and before we realized we reached Bhutan. It was a big gate, painted with colorful dragons and guarded by soldiers from Indian BSF and Royal Bhutan Army.

Himachal – Spiti Valley – Kaza, Kibber

At Kibber we stayed at Tashi Zom guest house which was just before the village separate from the rest of the village. It was really sunny, windy and chilly outside so most of the time we stayed indoor. I went out a little to take a walk around the guest house and inside the village. This is a proper village with a school and a game of volleyball was going on. There are other guest houses and this village witness some tourists. Here I met Mr. Anurag Jately and his assistant. He is ex-NGC, ex-Fox Traveller head of programming for them and he was shooting night sky in timelapse, phew!! I was just awestruck listening to his anecdotes and watching some of his work on his laptop.
