खैर यहाँ लगभग 2 घंटे मस्ती करने के बाद, 5 बज चुके थे इसलिए अन्य मंदिरों के जल्दी से दर्शन करके चढाई शुरू कर दी वापसी के लिए. यहाँ से हमारा अगला पड़ाव होना था, उमरा नारायण मंदिर जो की यहाँ से लगभग 4 किमी आगे था. मंदिर तक पहुँचते पहुँचते अंधेरा सा होने लगा था, इसलिए सोचा की रात यहीं बिताई जाए. यह मंदिर यहाँ से कुछ दूर बसे सन्न नामक गाँव के ईष्ट देवता उमरा नारायण को समर्पित है.

My favourite travel author Paul Theroux says in the opening paragraph of ‘The Great Railway Bazaar’ – the best travel book ever written – “I have seldom heard a train go by and not wished I was on it”. One simple sentence summarizes the entire romance and mysticism around the trains. It conjures up the sights and sounds of unknown exotic destinations. It is as if you don’t care where the train goes; you only want to be someplace that is far and not seen before. Someplace where people look different, language you can’t understand but sounds musical; and food is an adventure everytime.
Meanwhile, the train chugs along several stations. It is the perfect weather to buy chikki in Lonavala and feast on hot vada paos. The taste brings back memories from the past. It seems as if the chikki and vada tastes have been standardized like McDonalds. You remember the taste from times long gone when you took the Madgaon Express from CST to Goa every month on the Konkan Railway Line.

दर्शनी द्वार के बाद और बाण गंगा से पहले एक दीवार पर माता वैष्णो देवी की यात्रा का पूरा नक्शा बनाया हुआ हैं. हम लोग पवित्र बाण गंगा पर पहुँच जाते हैं. बहुत से लोग यंहा पर स्नान करके आगे बढते हैं. हमने भी अपने हाथ, पैर, मुह धोया. माना यह जाता हैं की माता वैष्णोदेवी जब भैरो देव से छिप कर के आगे बढ़ रही थी तो हनुमान जी भी उनके साथ साथ थे. हनुमान जी को बड़ी जोर की प्यास लगी, उन्होंने मैय्या से कंहा, माता मुझे बड़ी जोर की प्यास लगी हैं. माता ने अपने धनुष बाण के एक तीर को चलाकर के धरती से एक जल का एक स्रौत उत्पन्न किया. उस जल से ही हनुमान जी ने अपनी प्यास बुझाई. इसी जल के स्रौत को ही बाण गंगा कहा जाता हैं. बाण गंगा की जल में अनगिनत सुन्दर मछलिया भी तैरती रहती हैं. बहुत से श्रद्धालु उन्हें आटे की गोलिया खिलाते हैं. बाण गंगा का निर्मल शीतल जल बहुत ही स्वच्छ दीखता हैं, ऐसा लगता हैं की जैसे दूध की नदी बह रही हो.
आप लोग देखियेगा, कितना निर्मल, कितना शीतल, कितना पवित्र जल हैं बाण गंगा का. यंहा पर बाण गंगा को एक झरने का रूप दे दिया गया हैं. और उसके आगे स्नान करने के लिए एक कुंड बना दिया गया हैं. यंही से पैदल रास्ता और सीढ़ियों का रास्ता शुरू हो जाता हैं. वृद्ध और कमजोर, रोगी व्यक्ति को सीढ़ियों का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए. उनके लिए यंहा पर घोड़े, व पालकी उपलब्ध हो जाती हैं. बच्चो व सामान के लिए पिट्ठू उपलब्ध हैं. उन सबका रेट फिक्स होता हैं. पिट्ठू या घोडा तय करने के बाद उनका कार्ड पर जो नाम व नंबर होता हैं उसे अपने पास नोट करके रख लेना चाहिए. कोई बात होने पर श्राइन बोर्ड के कंट्रोल रूम में उनकी शिकायत दर्ज की जा सकती हैं. थोड़ा सा ही आगे बढ़ने पर हमें माता वैष्णोदेवी गुरुकुल दिखाई दिया. गुरुकुल की सजावट की हुई थी. गुरुकुल का वार्षिक उत्सव चल रहा था. इस गुरुकुल में सैंकडो ब्रह्मचारियो को वैदिक संस्कृति, वेद – पुराणों आदि की शिक्षा दी जाती हैं. यह गुरुकुल एक विशाल इमारत में स्थित हैं. और इसका प्रबंधन माता वैष्णोदेवी श्राइन बोर्ड द्वारा ही किया जाता हैं.

अब कुछ चकराता के बारे मैं : चकराता समुद्र ताल से करीब 7000 फीट के ऊंचाई पर स्तिथ हिल स्टेशन हैं जो हिमाचल और उत्तरांचल की सीमा पर पड़ता हैं।
देहारादून से इसकी दूरी करीब 90 किमी के आसपास हैं।
आप सहारनपुर से हर्बेर्ट्पुर और विकासनगर होते हुये या फिर देहारादून- मसूरी -केंपटी फाल होते हुये भी पहुँच सकते हैं।
एक रास्ता पोंटा साहिब से भी निकलता हैं। चूंकि हमें मसूरी होते हुये आना था इसलिए हमने हर्बेर्ट्पुर-विकासनगर जाना तय किया था॥

हमारी ट्रेन का समय ठीक ६.३० शाम को था. हम लोग ठीक ६ बजे स्टेशन पहुँच गए. स्टेशन पर भी प्रतीक्षा करने का एक अलग ही आनंद होता हैं. पता चला की ट्रेन १५ मिनट लेट हैं. दरअसल मेरठ से मुज़फ्फरनगर और सहारनपुर के बीच में सिंगल लाइन हैं. जिस कारण से करीब करीब सभी ट्रेन लेट होती हैं. हमारा आरक्षण S-6 डिब्बे में था. डिब्बे में चढ़ने के बाद वही समस्या जो की पूरे हिन्दुस्तान में रेलवे में हैं. दैनिक यात्री आरक्षित डिब्बों में घुसे रहते हैं. और बड़ा अहसान जताते हुए वे हमें हमारी सीट पर बैठने देते हैं. कहते है की सहारनपुर, यमुनानगर तक की ही तो बात हैं. पता नहीं रेलवे से ये समस्या कब दूर होगी. खैर सहारनपुर के बाद आराम से एडजस्ट हुए, हम घर से आलू ,पूरी, अचार आदि खाने में लेकर के आये थे. खाना खाकर के लंबी तान कर सो गए. सुबह ठीक पांच बजे ट्रेन जम्मू पहुँच गयी. स्टेशन पर अन्धेरा छाया हुआ था. हम लोग अपने सामान सहित बाहर बस स्टैंड पर आ गए.

Intermittently, when the Rain God seemed to have become a bit weary and softened the intensity of the downpour to smaller and scantier drops, we took a round of the rain-washed outskirts of the resort. But a look up above in the sky at the over-burdened cloud mounds, we knew it might start raining heavily any minute and so did not venture far and also had thoughtfully equipped ourselves with umbrellas. Everything looked so fresh and green early in the morning. The leaves were dripping wet and glistening with droplets of rain water hanging from their edges. The rains seemed to have breathed a fresh lease of life to the flora and fauna.

So after we had finished viewing our shows it was almost 1600 hrs and we had only 1.5 hour left with us to see the Gardens. So we quickly went to Bus stop to catch the bus. Again the guide in a bus was so good, so friendly with everyone, knows all three languages (English, Hindi and Telugu). But 1600 hrs bus timing is the last bus timings and you are not allowed to get down and see the gardens and the sets. There are approximately 120 gardens, so many beautiful fountains and so many readily available film sets like railway station ,airport , Foreign country , village, Hospital , Jail , Highway , streets , Raj darbaar etc.The guide was explaining us about all the gardens, sets, which all movie shot at RFC

By evening, I used to come again at Har-ki-Pauri for the evening ritual (Sandhya Aarti) performed by the priests on the banks of river Ganga. This is a highly enchanting and divine experience. Devotees light ‘Pradip’ or Diyas and let them flow in the river Ganga… The beautiful diyas float on the water and it is a wonderful sight to experience. A splendid aura of lights and chants fills the atmosphere in the evenings. I used to sit there hours after hours, doing nothing, but never felt bored even for a second…it attracts me always. I knew that I would be visiting this place again & again during this trip and forever in my life. I would have loved to go there any time, can sit there hours after hours, fully aware of the fact that my mind is trying to figure out the reason.
After spending three days in Haridwar, I thought to go to Rishikesh, which is ~ 25 km from Haridwar. The plan was to go there in the morning and come back by afternoon, as I was staying in Bharat Seva Shram Sangha. The drive to Rishikesh from Haridwar is wonderful and is a joy to your eyes. You need to pass through Rajaji National Park, few small streams, railway line (Delhi to Dehradun). Landscape changes as you are getting closer to Rishikesh and all of a sudden the mountain is just in front of you. Amazing! I reached there around 8:30 in the morning.
