चूँकि आज हमे सिर्फ़ बद्रीनाथ ही पहुँचना था (जो की यहाँ से मात्र 125 किमी ही है), इसलिए हम संगम पर काफ़ी देर बैठे मस्ती करते रहे. संगम का आनंद लेकर और दोनो नदियों के जल से विशुद्धि व उर्जा पाकर हम लोग आगे की यात्रा पर निकलने को तैय्यार थे. ढाबे पर नाश्ता करने के बाद, हम लोग सीधे बद्रीनाथ की बस लेने आ पहुँचे. थोड़ी देर इंतेज़ार के बाद, एकाध बसें आई पर सब खचाखच भारी हुई, पाँव रखने तक की जगह नही थी, यात्रा सीज़न मे ये एक आम नज़ारा है.

ऋतू का आगमन यूँ तो प्रत्येक वर्ष ही होता है, जिसके फलस्वरूप अक्सर हम सभी फिर से वापिस अपने बचपन की उन यादों को जी लेते हैं जिनमे सिवाय मौज-मस्ती और सैर-सपाटा के कुछ नहीं होता था। लगभग पूरे दो महीने तक स्कूल की छुट्टी और चारो तरफ बच्चों का शोरगुल आरम्भ। सांप-सीढ़ी, कैरम-बोर्ड, पकड़म पकड़ाई, खो-खो, कबड्डी, पहला-दुग्गो आदि जैसे खेलों को खेलते हुए दिन कैसे बीत जाते थे कुछ पता ही नहीं चलता था।

So the five of us zoomed out of Delhi by a cab on a Saturday morning by 6 am. It is recommended to leave Delhi early morning, else you get stuck in the traffic which will be tiresome. After crossing Meerut, we halted for breakfast as everyone was feeling ravenously hungry. Believe me, nothing meets the taste of Parathas & chai at the roadside dhabas during such trips. We filled our belly and then the journey resumed.

We started our journey late night from our office campus. Booked a traveller so that we all gather at office and start our journey from there only. As some of my colleagues have their respective shifts so it was the better option to start the trip from office. So we started it at around 10:30 pm and took some snacks and juices with us as it is going to be a long and tiring journey specially after office hours. We got seated ourselves in the traveller and started our trip.

Driving through Rishikesh in darkness, we could not see much except the twinkling diyas after Arti on the banks of Ganga. Though it was pitch dark, it was impossible to miss well lit billboard of the Bull’s Retreat ahead of Shivpuri village and we were warmly greeted by courteous Mohinder and staff of Retreat who shifted quickly our baggage to two rooms alloted to us.
