The Barren Tribal Circuit

The Barren Tribal Circuit

By

Tribal circuit is one of my best trip I had so far, more than 1000 KM X Chandigarh in 3 nights and 4 days, exploring through the whole of Himachal, passing through two major high altitude passes, exploring the changing vegetation and roving to places where you bound to feel “This is heaven and I am God”. You probably get hypnotized by the nature and feel need of nothing and feel a peace which only god can feel. All worries are left behind, in fact at that height when you look below from the edge of the cliff you will feel like there are my big worries looking so small from here!

The Residency – India’s Alamo

By

The Residency is a wonderful piece of history. It tells us of the resilience of Indian troops during the mutiny. Studies tell us that they were defeated due to the lack of officers. Any army needs officers to coordinate fire and chalk out strategies. This was sadly lacking and the revolution petered out. The British on the other hand realised that they could not be masters for long in a country not their own. The Residency stands today as a testimony of the rule of that day.

Fall in Virginia

By

People who leave their country to live in the USA often complain about certain things they terribly miss at home. It could be the food they are used to, the ease of life, or simply the comfort of talking to someone in their native language. If the reverse was to happen and I was to go back to India, one of the many things I would miss is the fall season I have grown to love and enjoy in the USA.

In the morning we got up by 4:30am. All the end moment packing was done starting from camera charger, laptop and mobile charger. We were in a hurry as we had planned to leave by 5:00am and we were running late. Never mind we were ready by 6:15am and left our home sweet home by 6:30am. The Toyota Fortuner which I was going to drive became a small caravan with the facility for breakfast, lunch and some other tits-bits and beverages like a bottle of Coca-Cola, Tea, and Coffee.

Bull’s Retreat – OUTTA THIS WORLD!

By

Driving through Rishikesh in darkness, we could not see much except the twinkling diyas after Arti on the banks of Ganga. Amkhoi Fossil Park

By

The angiosperm wood fossils which are displayed here were collected during pond digging from Amkhoi village of Illambazar Forest, Birbhum District. These specimens are definite proof of the presence of a vast dry deciduous forest with a few evergreen elements in this area, which prevailed 15 to 20 million years before present (Late Miocene). Wood fossils can also be found in different places of Birbhum, Bardhaman, Bankura and Medinipur Districts of West Bengal as well as in Mayurbhanj District in Orissa.

Bienvenue à Jaipur: Ville Rose

By

It was Wednesday evening when Sourabh came & asked to go out of Delhi on Weekend. Immediately everybody started looking at him & responded yes in a very strange way. This reaction was not due to the short notice for outing but everybody was surprised that he is not going home on the weekend. Without giving any thought to this idea, everybody said Yes & then asked where you want to go? Ultimately Jaipur was selected & we planned to leave early morning of Saturday.
