Ranikhet – the unexplored paradise

The hotel that we stayed in was called as Rosemount,a  lovely old heritage property with old world charm,  the splendour reminds you of an era gone by. It is known to be as old as year 1900, elaborate window frames and the large rooms have preserved the pristine glory in its true form even today. The manager told that one could see beautiful Nanda Devi and entire range from rooms and the garden.  Well it  was late evening , we could see nothing and rather slept early.  Ahem Ahem !! Next day in the morning, I opened the windows to majestic Nanda Devi and other snow covered peaks towering over! It was a view to remember.

Auli – Land of peaks, forest and flowers

It was a clear day with sun rays warming our bodies that have gone numb due to the chill in the air. High snow clad peaks bordered with Golden oak and deodar kissing the deep blue sky above, welcomed us to Auli. A look at the place and all our tiredness of long journey through zig zag roads, landslides and pilgrims traffic is gone.

Of Dawns and Dusks

I woke up late and had to be content watching it from the room of my hotel instead of heading to the beach. The second day, the sun was partially shrouded by clouds, and though I had a wonderful experience watching it rise, I was not able to get any good shots of it. I tried watching the sunset from a sand dune, but this time too, the sun had long disappeared in the thick clouds even before it was time for it to set.
