तो मित्रो आपने पढ़ा कि अपनी हिमाचल यात्रा हमने नैना देवी, ज्वालाजी, कांगड़ा, पालमपुर बैजनाथ होते हुए रिवालसर में समाप्त की। अब समय आ गया था इस खूबसूरत जगह को छोड़ने का व अपनी वापसी यात्रा शुरु करने का. ऩाश्ता करने के बाद हमने होटल का बिल चुकाया और जाने की तैयारी शुरु की. रिवालसर में रहने के लिये, यदि आप परिवार के साथ जा रहे हैं तो हिमाचल टूरिज़्म का होटल ही सबसे बेहतरीन जगह है.. किराया 900-2400 तक, खाना स्वादिष्ट व विनम्र सेवक। बेहतर रहेगा आने से पहले बुकिंग करा लें..क्योंकि कब बौद्धों का कोई त्योहार आ जाये और सब होटल भर जायें…
यदि मुंडे-मुंडे जा रहे हैं तो रूकने के सस्ते गैस्ट हाउस हैं जहां 300-500 में अच्छा कमरा मिल जायेगा । गुरुद्वारे में मुफ्त भी रहा जा सकता है ।

और एक बार फिर रिवालसर के नयनाभिराम दृष्यों को जी भर कर देखा…. और अपनी वापसी य़ात्रा शुरु की.

रिवालसर से निकल कर हम नेर चौक वाली सड़क पर चल दिये जो 25 किमी लम्बी है… ये रास्ता कुछ खास नही था वोहि छोटे-2 गांव व घुमावदार सड़कें. लगभग 1 घंटे बाद हम नेर चौक पंहुचे व वहां से मुख्य चंडीगढ़ – मनाली वाली सड़क पर पंहुच गये. बांई ओर का रास्ता मनाली जा रहा था… हम दांयी ओर मुड़ कर कुछ ही देर में सुंदर नगर पंहुच गये. सड़क के किनारे एक बहुत खूबसूरत व आधुनिक वेज-रेस्त्रां नजर आया व हम वहां रुके और गोभी मूली के परांठो के साथ नाश्ता किया.

सुंदर नगर वाकई में एक सुंदर नगर है… छोटा सा शहर, सड़क के दोनो ओर ऊंचे-ऊचे देवदार के पेड़. यहां से एक रास्ता तत्ता पानी होते हुए शिमला जाता है.. 1993 में हम छोटे बच्चो के साथ इस रास्ते पर गये पर रात को रास्ता भटक कर करसोग की तरफ पंहुच गये…वो एक खूबसूरत रास्ते की भयानक यात्रा थी जिसके बारे में कभी खट्टी-मीठी में लिखूंगा ।

खैर नाश्ता करने के बाद हम लोग आगे चल दिये, कीरतपुर साहिब पहुंच कर हम बांयें चंडीगढ़ वाली सड़क पर पंहुच गये।

इस बार इरादा चंडीगढ़ से होकर जाने का था, क्योंकि जब भी हम इस रास्ते से वापिस जाते हैं वैड़का कम्पलैक्स में ठंडे दूध का सेवन अवश्य करते हैं… क्योंकि जो दूध वो परोसते है उसका स्वाद भी निराला है व पौष्टिकता भी खूब है, जो रास्ते की सारी थकावट को दूर कर देती है।

वैड़का वालो ने तो इस बार कमाल ही कर दिया । कहां तो एक छोटा सा बूथ होता था जहां हम दूध पीते थे व पिन्नी व शुदध देसी घी घर के लिये ले जाते थे… और अब वैड़का वालों ने एक बहुत बड़ा बाग बना दिया जहां सुंदर मूर्तियों द्वारा पंजाब की संस्कृति की झलक मिलती है।

साथ ही वहां अब छोटा सा रेस्त्रां बन गया जहां पंजाबी भोजन हर समय ताजा मिलता है, वो भी ठीक दामों में। तो हमने पहले लंच करने का फैसला लिया व अंदर बैठ कर मक्की की रोटी व सरसों का साग आर्डर किया । भोजन तुरंत गरम परोस दिया गया ..मक्की की रोटी बहुत पतली व नरम थी… सरसों का साग जैसा हर जगह मिलता है.

मिक्सी आने से सरसों के साग का स्वाद ही खत्म हो गया है… मैने अपनी नानी व मां के हाथ का बना तथा कई बार पंजाब के गांवो में सरसों का साग खाया है… उसका स्वाद ही अलग था.. अब जितने होटलों व ढाबों में सरसों का साग मिलता है वो असली साग का पासंग भी नही है… अब वो सरसों के साग को पालक के साथ मिला कर मिक्सी में पीस देते हैं व मेंहदी जैसा एक मिश्रण सरसों के साग के नाम पर परोसते हैं… जबकि असली पंजाबी साग में सरसो के साथ बथुआ मिला कर हाथ से मोटा मोटा घोटते हैं तथा टमाटर व प्याज का तड़का दे कर सफेद मक्खन के साथ परोसा जाता है… नई पीढ़ी शायद कभी जान ही न पाये कि ये मेंहदी जैसी हरी चीज…सरसों के साग के नाम पर मजाक है… खैर घर जाकर दुबारा असली साग खाया व मुंह का जायका ठीक किया

चंडीगढ़ पार करके, पुलिस से बचते बचाते हम दिल्ली रोड़ पर पंहुच गये । हम लोग कई बार चंडीगढ़ में चालान करवा चुके हैं…वहां पुलिस बड़ी मुस्तैद है व खास कर दिल्ली की गाड़ियों की ताक में रहती है.. वहां स्पीड लिमिट 55 की है व यदि 57-58 की गति भी हो तो चालान अवश्य होगा… कोई उनकी पुरानी पड़ी मशीन को चैलैज नही कर सकता…. हमारा पिछला चालान तो एक बहुत खूबसूरत पर मोटी ताजी, लम्बी चौड़ी पंजाबन पुलसिन ने किया था… जिससे बात करते भी डर लगता था कि न जाने क्या कर दे…LOL

खैर भाई रात होते -2 दिल्ली बार्डर पर पंहुचे… रास्ते में लक्षमण के लड़के ने फोन किया कि मुरथल के पास सुखदेव के ढाबे से दाल मखनी व नान जरुर लाना…ढाबा क्या था एक आलीशान रेस्त्रां था… सेक्योरिटी वाले गाड़ियां लगवा रहे थे…अंदर खचाखच भरा था… पर सर्विस तुरंत… लक्षमण ने फटाफट हिसाब लगाया कि कम से कम 1 लाख रु की रोज की शुद्ध बचत…यानी 30 लाख रु महीना… हमने अपनी पढ़ाई लिखाई को लानत दी और सुखदेव सिंह की तारीफ करते रहे कि हमारी तरह फिज़िक्स मैथ में समय न गवा वो खाना बनाना सीख करोड़पति बन गया… खैर उसका खाना वाकई लाजवाब था…दाल मखनी व बटर नान उसकी खास डिश है और दिल्ली से हजारो लोग शाम को वहां ये खाने आते हैं.
दिल्ली पंहुच कर कुछ दिन आराम किया व आगे उदयपुर का प्रोग्राम बनाने लगे… पर सारी ट्रेन फुल थी… मैने इस दौरान गरीब आदमी को काफी तलाशा पर मिला नही… सारे हवाई जहाज फुल… ट्रेने फुल… बसें फुल… होटल फुल…हमारी काम वाली ने भी AC और LCD ले लिया… मुझे कम से कम दिल्ली में तो गरीब आदमी नही मिला..
अगले हफ्ते नंदन से मिलना तय हुआ… नीरज जाट से पहले ही मिल चुका था… एक शर्मीला छोटी सी आयू का बालक जो एक अस्त-व्यस्त से मैट्रो फ्लैट में रहता है व घूमने के अलावा कुछ नही सोचता…अच्छा बच्चा लगा..
नंदन भी समय पर घर पंहुच गया साथ में विभा भी थी । अवस्थी जी को जैसे पता लगा नंदन आने वाला है वो भी पंहुच गया व जेपी भी अचानक आ धमका…तो हमारी शाम रंगीन हो गयी। खूब बातें हुई.. .व नंदन व विभा ने काफी बाते कर के हमारा ज्ञान बढ़ाय़ा (ये एक जोक है…. क्योंकि मुझे नही लगता मैने उन दोनो बिचारों को बोलने का मौका दिया हो…व अपनी ही धुन में उन्हे बोर करता रहा….LOL)
बातों ही बातों में मैने नंदन को अपने उदयपुर प्लान के बारे में बताया व रेल टिकट न मिलने की बात भी… नंदन ने अच्छी सलाह दी कि हम जयपुर हाउस से चलने वाली डीलक्स बस से भी जा सकते है जिसकी टिकट आराम से मिल जायेगी । सोमवार को हमने बस से उदय पुर जाने का प्रोग्राम पक्का कर दिया.. पर दिल्ली में तो आप जानते हैं We propose and Mosquitoes dispose..अगले ही दिन बुखार व शरीर में टूटन शुरू हो गयी… उदयपुर कैसिल व स्वाथ्य की देखभाल शुरु । और जब नाक से लहू बहने लगा तो डेगू का खतरा मंडराने लगा..खैर डाक्टरी जांच से डेगू तो नही निकला पर ठीक होने में 10 दिन लग गये और सारे प्रोग्राम की वाट लग गयी ।
पर फिर भी जो दिन हिमाचल में बिताये… व जो नयनाभिराम दृष्य देखे उन्हे याद करके तो एक ही बात मुंह से निकलती है – मेरा भारत महान….Incredible India !!!!!

अब वापसी की तैयारी शुरू… सूटकेस पैक व हवाई अड्डे की और प्रस्थान .. चैक इन किया व 2 घंटे एअर इंडिया के एम्बर लाऊंज में मुफ्त का माल खाते पीते रहे व ठीक समय पर विमान में सवार हुए..

.बड़ी किस्मत थी कि ये उड़ान एअर इंडिया के First Dreamliner(787) में थी…नये विमान का उदघाटन करते हुए विमान में प्रवेश किया और अपनी सीटो पर बैठ गये । बड़ी खुली सीटे जो एक बटन दबाने से पूरा बिस्तरा बन जाती थी…खिड़की के शीशे के पास उंगली दबाओ तो शीशा काला हो जायेगा…हर दबाव कालापन (या हरापन सा) बढ़ाता जायेगा व अंतत: शीशे से रोशनी आनी बंद। पूरा विमान ऐसे इलैकट्रानिक संसाधनो से युक्त कि लग रहा था कि नासा की चांद गाड़ी से यात्रा कर रहे हैं… एयर इंडिया से ऐसी उम्मीद नहीं थी…LOL. एयर होस्टेस थोड़ी थकी हुइ बुडढी सी लगी पर वो काफी सेवाभावी थी व हर तरह से यात्रियों का ध्यान रख रही थी । सुंदर, जवान व अकड़ू होस्टेस जाने किस रुट पर थीं….
एअर इंडिया का आधुनिकतम विमान – ड्रीम-लाईनर
तो ड्रीमलाइनर उड़ चला मस्त पंछी की तरह… खुदा का लाख लाख शुक्र है कि लीथियम बैट्रियों ने आग नही पकड़ी वरना ये लेख आप न पढ़ रहे होते । कुछ दिनों बाद ही एयर इंडिया को सारे नये विमान रोक देने पड़े क्योकि पता चला कि उनकी बैटरी खराब है व कभी भी आग पकड़ सकती हैं… एक बार ट्युनिस में छोटे विमान मे यात्रा करते हुए जब विमान नीचे उतरा तो उसका टायर फट गया… विमान बहुत छोटा था व पायलट ट्रेंड… अत् झूलते झालते विमान को उसने बिना कोई दुर्घटना हुए रोक दिया, पर हमें स्लाइड से उतरना पड़ा था । लिथीयम बैट्री का धन्यवाद कि वो हमारी यात्रा के समय विस्फोटक नही हुई नही तो नंदन भाई को GOY posthumously देना पड़ता ।
तो हम अफगानिस्तान के हिमाच्छादित पर्वत श्रंखलाओं से होते हुए फ्रैंकफुर्त जा पंहुचे

फ्रैंकफुर्त में हमें कुछ करना तो था नही, सिर्फ होटल में एक रात रुकना था व अगले दिन आईसलैंड का विमान पकड़ना था । एअरपोर्ट पर चैकइन काउंटर व बाद में सुरक्षा कर्मियों की रंगभेद बदतमीजियों को झेलते हम आखिर आईसलैंड के विमान में बैठ गये

3 घंटे बाद विमान आईसलैंड के हवाई अड्डे पर उतरा…. हमारा वाहन चालक इंतजार कर रहा था और हम चल दिये अपने घर की ओर… हिमाचल की पूरी यात्रा में न तो ठंड मिली न बरफ… पर यहां आईसलैंड में सब कुछ था….
बरफ, ठंड तथा उत्तर-ध्रुवीय रोशनियां (Aurora Borealis ) हमारा इंतजार कर रही थी…. आसमान हरे रंग से सजा था, नीचे सब सफेद ही सफेद था… .
.एक स्वर्ग (हिमाचल) से दूसरे स्वर्ग (आईसलैंड) की य़ात्रा … मजेदार रही… आपको कैसी लगी ????????????

Just like Verka, there is another one close to Karnal (I am missing the name), similar format and a great place for milk lovers. I so agree with your thoughts around using food-processor. It just kills the whole thing. My attempts of not using the mixer has seen a mixed success, so good to hear that there are more like me . hehe.
Getting out of CHD is an act of bravery. With the new bypass (Kharar) at least one can avoid it. The traffic cops are just on the look-out and if it is non punjab vehicle, you have it.
I am so glad that we not only could meet but actually could spend time together. It was one of very focused meeting with all of us around the table and a lot of discussions. If you remember it rained a bit and it was just the perfect weather for getting a bit high. I know it was a shame on us to not have clicked a single pic. he he. I look forward to meet you again, here or Iceland or Kumaon hills. :-)
Very sad to hear about sickness, it sort of makes one feel very bad. Hopefully Udaipur would happen in a greater grandeur soon.
Thanks for dreamliner details :-) and the flat seats. I return next week and the larger leg is of about 16 hours, all in economy. Good thing is that the carrier is an Asian. I have found them to be much more nice than the rang-bhedi european or dis-interested American carriers. I avoid them. I have take China, Japan, Emirates, Sg, Cathay and all of them have been nice. AA, BA, Luft… always have unpleasant stories, anyway, lets not get digressed.

Abhee thanks for your comments…. sarson ka saag should never be prepared in a mixie. boil the saag and grind it with hands… since it is hard work, ask your servant to do it..if you dont have a servant follow my wife’s footsteps who uses her hubby to grind the saag by hands with a “Mathani” made of wood. it must have a rugged look of a leaves and stems in a rough way to satisfy the heart…not the eyes

Sorry, SS, for the delay in reading this post but I was sort of busy and had to travel to the UAE too, so I was not able to log in for many days.
A fitting finale to a very enchanting series. From Heaven 1 to Heaven 2 and back to Heaven 1 (with an Aurora Borealis welcoming you), it has been an awesome journey. Your GF3 has been outstanding and the pictures have come out very well. I especially liked the picture of Afghanistan, highlighting its rugged landscape. Also have come to know that you are an accomplished cook too, going by your description of the right way of preparing sarson ka saag. I am sure that in spite of having studied Mathematics and Physics, you can also make crores like Shri Sukhdev Singh if at all you choose to start a restaurant. The ability to cook extremely well is the most prized of talents.
Sad that you missed out on a visit to Udaipur because of a lowly mosquito; great that you were able to recover from the illness in time to fly back to Iceland. The get together with Nandan and Vibha must surely have been one of the highlights of this visit for you.
Congratulation for flying on the inaugural AI dreamliner flight and relieved that you did not have any problem with the Lithium batteries on your flight. Thankfully, no disasters have taken place anywhere and hope that the dreamliners start flying once again. Looks like you have traveled Business Class or is economy class that good in a 787?

I travelled in business class .. but the economy seats in Dreamliner were better than Business class in other planes.
Last photograph left me spellbound, there is something magical about it which cannot be explained.
End of another brilliant series, though I found the end little rushed or it’s just me. Or may be I don’t like partings which involve airports :-(

I saw a security person calling to visitors with their shirt color, and every passenger has to go with security check whether he is just transfer his flight. May be German has to learn customer service yet.
