Agumbe

Agumbe is a picturesque little village nestled on a plateau at the top of the Someshwara Ghat in Karnataka. It has earned the name of Cherrapunji of the south due to the tremendous rainfall it receives. Agumbe is well known for its scenic beauty and rain forest with many magnificent waterfalls. The sunset view point is famous place and on a clear day one can view the sun setting in Arabian Sea from a view point that is more than eight hundred metres above sea level. Accessible by road, Agumbe offers a memorable trekking experience during the months from October to May.
