From the Editor – The Unexpected Second Editorial

If you haven’t read the first Editorial published this morning, then I insist that you do so because this editorial won’t make any sense to you if you don’t. Here is the link.

And now forÂ a revelation – following are the only lines from this morning’s Editorial that you should believe:

“…the person who has the most number of stories to his credit and without whom, no exaggeration here, Ghumakkar wouldnâ€™t exist today…Mr. Nandan Jha. Thereâ€™s a lot he has contributed to the travelling community…”

“…we are all human.”

“…the stories by the authors at Ghumakkar will not need any special marketing because their quality speaks for them.”

“There may be more editorials coming up soon.”

The rest was all my idea of a joke to mark April 1st, the fools’ day. If it fell flat on its face, please rest assured thatÂ the intention was not to make fun of any future alliance we may get the opportunity of entering. Those are the things we will deal with sincerity and keeping in mind the best interests of all our fellow Ghumakkars whenever a chance presents itself to us.

And now for the real Featured Author for the month of April 2012:

It is none other than our persistent, religious Vishal Rathod. He was recently mentioned in this month’s Insights for setting an example in maintaining intergrity and persuing a long but righteous path to obtain the publishing rights for some of the content that he has used in his posts. From what he shares with us, being tired of materialism, he has made a conscious decision to follow the spiritual path and, therefore, most of his stories are about the awe-inspiring pilgrimages he has undertaken. So far he has written 19 posts on Ghumakkar and we hope to see many more posts from him.

And the Featured Story for the Month of March 2012 is:

Chambal Ki Ghati â€” Kota Gorge through the Hadoti Belt. The story explores Kota Gorge that majestically tears through the trecherous terrain of valleys and plains of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Let Giriraj lead you through the remote, untouched recesses that invoke awe and fear and tempt you to pack your bags and head there for an adventure of your life time.

So congratulations Vishal and Giriraj. For those who wonder, Vishal and Giriraj were informed in advance of this prank so it wasn’t a surprise for them.

This wasÂ all in good fun! Truly sorry if it hurt you in any way. But Happy April Fools’ Day anyways! Take care.

Announcement of Featured Author for the month & Featured Story for the Month after a big Dhum Dhadaka ……:-)

विभा………..
घुमक्कड़ से हमारा एक अलग ही रिश्ता है जिसे शब्दों में बयान करना अगर असंभव नहीं तो मुश्किल जरुर है. घुमक्कड़ ने हमारे जीवन में, हमारी दिनचर्या में जबरदस्त बदलाव ला दिया है. ऐसा लगता है घुमक्कड़ हमारे जीवन का अभिन्न हिस्सा है.

आपके इस मजाक से हमें पहले तो ऐसा महसूस हुआ की सचमुच किसी भी चीज से इतना लगाव नहीं रखना चाहिए. लेकिन थेंक गोड ऐसा कुछ नहीं हुआ.

  कविता जी, आप लोगों के प्यार और विश्वास के भरोसे ही हमनें यह मज़ाक किया था। हमें लगा था कि आप लोग एक दम ही समझ जायेंगे कि हम ऐसा कभी नहीं कर सकते। आखिर घुमक्कङ से हमें भी तो लगाव है। खुद ही सोचिये हम ऐसी डील कैसे कर सकते हैं जिससे घुमक्कङ के वजूद पर ही प्रश्नचिन्ह लग जाये।

मैने सुबह पहला लेख पढते ही विभा जी और एस एस जी को अप्रैल फूल की बधाई दी थी । एस एस जी की प्रतिक्रिया थी वो घुमक्कड से लगाव के कारण थी और विभा जी मै आपको बताना चाहता हूं कि एक पल को भी यकीन नही हुआ और विश्वास करने की कोई वजह नही थी कि आप ऐसा कर सकते हो । पर आपकी एक बात से मुझे यकीन हो गया था कि ये मजाक है वो थी आपको गिरीराज की स्टोरी को हटाकर अपनी स्टोरी जो कि इस महीने की है ही नही ,फीचर्ड स्टोरी घोषित करना । ………………..अगर ये सच होता तो एस एस जी जैसी प्रतिक्रिया हमारी भी होती पर अगर ये सच होती तो ………………
विशाल जी को विशिष्ट लेखक बनने के लिये मेरी ओर से हार्दिक बधाई , मेरी नजर में योग्यता का सम्मान हुआ है और वो इसलिये भी मेरी नजर में स्पेशल है कि वे केवल अपने लेख लिखने के समय ही घुमक्कड पर एक्टिव नही रहते बल्कि छोटे बडे सभी लेख पढते है और प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं और घुमक्कड पर ऐसे चुनिंदा लोग हैं और उनके बारे में पूरा नही कहूंगा अभी कई मौको पर कहना है

विशाल जी क्या इस तरह कोई अपनी पोस्ट डिलीट कर सकता है मेरे ख्याल मे मुझे तो पता नही है इस बारे में ………और दूसरी बात मुझे अभी तक भी एस एस की पोस्ट नही दिखाई दे रही है ………….विभा जी और नन्दन जी ये अप्रैल फूल कुछ ऐसा है जैसे किसी को मूर्ख बनाने की कोशिश में उसे कुछ ऐसा खिला दिया जाये कि वो अस्पताल पहुंच जाये ……….

एस एस जी से विनती है कि वो इसे अपने बच्चो द्धारा किया गया मजाक मानकर या एक गलती मानकर माफ कर दे …………………घर में भी तो बच्चे हंसी मजाक कर लेते हैं वापस आइये एस एस जी

आज जो आपने सुबह घुमक्कड़.कॉम पर धमाका किया हैं उसका असर लगभग सभी पर हुआ पर कुछ समय बाद आपका दूसरा लेख प्रकाशित हुआ तो पता चला की घुमक्कड़.कॉम पर भी अप्रेल फूल बनाया जा रहा हैं | Very funny……….!

@ Vibha-The second editorial wasn’t unexpected; what surprised me was that you published both the fake and the real editorials on the same day. I smelt a rat when you declared that both the prizes went to you and Nandan. After all, ghumakkar is anything but a banana republic, lol.

@Giriraj-I had already posted my congratulations earlier, but nevertheless, let me take this opportunity to congratulate you once again.

I read both the posts today and must say, it was a shocking April Fool prank. And like others I was also wondering about the reason to go for such a step.

But then all is well that ends well. :-)

P.S.- Only thing I was looking forward to, was an interview of Nandan by Nandan. It’ll be nice if it happens (Featured Author or not) or probably you can take his interview. :-)

I agree with Nisha – Nandan interviewing Nandan sounded really interesting… though ‘wikileaks’ says you do not need to wait for April Fool’s day for that… it happens much more frequently… with the right setting and right ingredients it does… :-)

Fortunately I read both of the editorials few minutes back otherwise first one would have definitely ruined my Sunday. As I was going through the first one it was so insane that I thought what happened to such a sensible persons like Nandan and Vibha, whom I respect a lot. Thankfully it was a prank otherwise we may have formed a different forum under the leadership of silent soul sir and would have organized a protest before Nandan’s residence :-)

Anyways chapter is closed now on positive note but it re-confirmed our love for our extended family.
Finally heartiest congratulation to my dear friend Vishal ji and to Giriraj ji with whom I am not much familiar with, but after this comment going to read all his posts.

part I can be adjudged as the best suspense thriller/ whodunit script in Ghumakkar.

Ghuamakkars, I would feel are always attached to Ghumakkar.com, irrespective of whether one is visible or not. Your article, however, reminded us about the deep bonding we have developed with this site.

WE HEREBY AFFIRM OUR UNFLINCHING SUPPORT FOR THIS SITE. And now that things are back to normal, we can get back to our routines.

On this occasion I am reminded of an O Henry short story called ‘ THE PENDULUM’.

Vibha, as soon as I read the first few paras of your first editorial, i knew it was an April Fool’s prank. It seemed too ridiculous and far-fetched to be true! I was sure such a drastic change could not take place at Ghumakkar so suddenly, with such adverse ramifications.

Anyway I am glad the issue has been sorted out… all’s well that ends well. I hope the Ghumakkar family stays close knit and strong forever. :-)
