मित्रों,  अभी तक आप पढ़ चुके हैं कि कैसे मध्य प्रदेश में स्थित अपने बैंक की दो शाखाओं का ’निरीक्षण-परीक्षण’ करने के निमित्त मैं अपने प्यारे से, दुलारे से सहारनपुर से अमृतसर इन्दौर एक्सप्रेस पकड़ कर अगले दिन सुबह 7 बजे इन्दौर पहुंचा।  वहां से धार जाने हेतु बस नहीं मिली तो टैक्सी से जाने का भरसक प्रयत्न किया पर बसंत पंचमी यानि 15 फरवरी के दिन वहां कर्फ्यू और धारा 144 लगा दिये जाने के कारण धार में प्रवेश हेतु अनुमति नहीं मिली।  तीन घंटे में इन्दौर के विभिन्न राजमार्गों की खाक छान कर वापिस इन्दौर ही आना पड़ा, आर एन टी मार्ग पर होटल में सामान टिका कर बैंक पहुंचा।  दिन में खाने का मैन्यू था – खस्ता कचौरी जिसके इन्दौरिये दीवाने हैं।  शाम को सैंट्रल मॉल देखा जो आर एन टी मार्ग और महात्मा गांधी मार्ग के संगम पर स्थित है।  अगले दिन सुबह इन्दौर की सड़कों से प्यार की पींगें बढ़ाईं। शनिवार यानि 16 फरवरी को दिन में बैंक से दो बजे सेजवाया के लिये प्रस्थान किया जो इन्दौर – धार राजमार्ग क्रं० 59 पर घाटाबिल्लोद से कुछ आगे अवस्थित है।  घाटाबिल्लोद में मुकेश भालसे मिले और मुझे अपनी मोटरसाइकिल पर बैठा कर सेजवाया के लिये चल पड़े।  अब आगे…. ।

सेजवाया धार जनपद का एक पिछड़ा हुआ गांव रहा है  जिसमें रुचि सोया ग्रुप ने  रुचि स्ट्रिप्स एंड अलॉय लि. (RSAL)   की स्थापना यह सोच कर की थी कि  पिछड़े क्षेत्र में उद्योग स्थापित करने से सरकार की ओर से टैक्स आदि में विशेष प्रोत्साहन मिलता है।   इस बहाने इस क्षेत्र में रोजगार के अवसर बढ़ेंगे,  फैक्ट्री में काम करने के लिये इतने सारे लोग यहां  रहेंगे तो  मकान – दुकान आदि सभी चीज़ों की आवश्यकता होगी ।   आज इस फैक्ट्री के उत्पाद  देश विदेश में बहुत सम्मान जनक स्थान रखते हैं।   यह कंपनी आई एस ओ 9001:2008 तथा  14001:2009  प्रमाणित औद्योगिक इकाई है जो Cold Rolled Steel Coils & Sheets बनाती है जिनका इस्तेमान अनेकानेक उद्योग अपने कच्चे माल के रूप में करते हैं।   शेड  बनाने हेतु प्रयोग में आने वाली स्टील की नालीदार चादरें भी यहां उत्पादित स्टील से ही बनाई जाती हैं।  इसके अतिरिक्त आटोमोबाइल इंडस्ट्री के लिये coil आदि बनाने हेतु कच्चा माल यही उद्योग उपलब्ध कराता है।   यहां के उत्पाद का बहुत बड़ा हिस्सा कई देशों को निर्यात किया जाता है।  खैर !

कितनी विचित्र बात है न?  मैं मुकेश की मोटर साइकिल पर पीछे बैठा था, मेरे कंधे पर मेरा पिठ्ठू बैग लटका हुआ था।  चार-चार फीट गहरे गढ्ढे वाली उस सड़क पर हमारी बाइक डूबती – उतराती चली जा रही थी और हम सड़क की दुर्दशा देख कर भी हंसते चले जा रहे थे।  हम दोनों का कितना परिचय था?  सिर्फ यही कि घुमक्कड़ डॉट कॉम के लिये हम दोनों अपने – अपने यात्रा संस्मरण लिखते हैं और एक दूसरे का लेखन पसन्द करते हैं।  इस अपरिचय के बावजूद हम दोनों ही एक दूसरे को देखकर आह्लादित थे और आपसी परिचय को और गहन करने की लालसा लिये कुछ समय साथ बिताने के उद्देश्य से साथ-साथ जा रहे थे।  व्यक्तिगत रूप से मुकेश के बारे में मेरी जानकारी इतनी ही थी कि वह रुचि स्ट्रिप्स एंड एलॉय लि. नामक विख्यात स्टील निर्माता कंपनी में गुणवत्ता नियंत्रण अधिकारी हैं।  उनकी पत्नी कविता हैं, दो छोटे बच्चे हैं – संस्कृति एवं शिवम्‌!   कविता भी घुमक्कड़ साइट पर यदाकदा लिखती हैं।  क्या इतनी संक्षिप्त जानकारी दो व्यक्तियों को स्नेहसूत्र में जोड़ने के लिये पर्याप्त होती है?  जी हां,  बिल्कुल !   शर्त एक ही है और वह ये कि दोनों व्यक्ति घुमक्कड़ डॉट कॉम से जुड़े हुए लेखक हों !   सच कहूं तो घुमक्कड़ डॉट कॉम स्वयं में एक अनूठी दुनिया है जिसके लेखक, संपादक व टिप्पणीकार सब एक परिवार के सदस्य जैसे अनुभव होने लगे हैं।   किसी व्यक्ति के लेखन से यदि उसके व्यक्तित्व को समझा जा सकता है तो मुकेश और मैं  एक दूसरे से कतई अपरिचित नहीं थे। अस्तु ! A bunch of my friends at the office were on a tea break and were cherishing memories of the Dehradun trip that we had done a few months ago. Every one wanted to take a break from the office again and was more then ready to plan a quick get away. The big question as always was where???
Like always when there is too much confusion about choosing a place for a quick weekend; rafting at Rishikesh always turns out to be the best option. Well we found out that the rafting at Rishikesh was closed at this time due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. “Heavy Rains” that triggered an idea. Why not enjoy the rain itself and live our childhood again. Why not a bike trip to Rishikesh?

The destination never matters to us. It’s the journey that matters. It seemed to be fantastic idea. We had experienced riders like Vishal and Nitin in our group who are ever ready for bike trips. Shiraz has 1966 left hand drive Willis (petrol) which was like icing on the cake.

A long drive in an open jeep and bikes was tempting enough to plan something very soon. All of us agreed to do it the coming weekend itself. Shiraz wanted to get his Jeep checked from a mechanic and wanted to make sure everything goes well. On Friday evening we were all set to hit the road and soon we were on NH 58.

Destinations with obscurity ,where roads ultimately wind up at corners where no one has ever revered always ignites a sense of being the “man on the moon“. Well i will not be amused to land up on moon but would always love to be on an excursion unraveling the hidden treasures of the natural habitat.

So far i had traversed to places having familiarity with the social mass but this time i thought of cherishing and exploring the obscurity of the Chambal Gorge, created by the mighty and the pristine Chambal River ,who oblivious of my encroachment is busy streaming and gushing.

December was the month back then two years ago ,when i thought of going down to the South Eastern frontier of Rajasthan surrounding Kota and Jhalawar, from Delhi. The region is situated on a tableland being a part of the Malwa Plateau which encapsulates the whole Northern Madhya Pradesh along with the Vindhyan Ranges and enscrapments.

The plateau is formed by erosion of sediments and by the deposition of magma(lava) which happened because of volcanic eruptions some hundred million years ago according to some geological timelines ….. Perhaps it would not be inappropriate to say that the rivers flowing may have cut these gorges and dissected the plateau in such a manner.Because of this reason the soil in this region is categorically black and brown in color with highest moisture retention capacity thus giving enough scope for irrigation and cultivation.
I gave a phone call to Sandeep, my friend who is living in Kota saying i will be coming the next day. Kota is located on the south east border of Rajasthan on the banks of river Chambal. This region of Rajasthan is known as the “Hadoti” belt mainly because the Hada Rajputs inhabitated and ruled this region.The Hada’s are a sub clan of the Chaouhan Rajput dynasty.
