Ever saw the clouds above and wonder where do they come from and how it would be to rise above them? You must pay a visit to Cherrapunjee, the place we knew as the wettest place on earth. (It may no longer be the wettest one but it can do wonders for you if you are looking for a quiet and adventurous gateway but still not in the mood of suddenly discovering your next door neighbor vacationing in the same spot). Christmas in Italy

Unlike the other European countries Rome station turned out to be real messy with thousands of people running in and around it. Mostly there was no queue and no prepaid taxis available. We managed to grab one and all we had to say is “Pantheon”.

Hotel Albergo Abruzzi was the destination. Located in Piazza della Rotonda, this old restored building stands across Pantheon, the ancient roman temple, dedicated to all the gods of Rome. Unlike Paris, Rome is quite a small city and if you stay at the heart of the old city almost all the sights and historical buildings will be very much walk able.

Receptionist lady smiled and quite cheerfully gave us an introduction and before we left she handed over us two copies of Rome street maps.  Having already been to Paris I had no false expectation regarding the size of the room. Small and cozy would be the apt description. It all made sense when I opened the window. There it was. Pantheon.

A Swiss road trip..

“I’m afraid of heights”…I mumbled. He gave me a WTF look.. Are you kidding? He probably wanted to ask. He was not wrong. Here I was going to jump off the cliff in few minutes. how the hell was he going to believe that I was actually scared of heights…it’s not the height. It’s the steep downhill slope.. I can go uphill and probably reach heaven like Juthisthir did.

..we walked through the Latin quarter region stumbling upon artistes making portraits and abstract arts in the middle of the streets..met a charming old lady with her souvenir shop who without even being asked proposed us a group photo..witnessed a wedding with the bride and groom posing for their wedding albums…
