Sattal : Sattal Forest Resort

September 23, 2009 By: Anand Category: Hills, Uttarakhand

A stay at the Sattal Forest Resort is the perfect weekend break we city people crave for. For an all season holiday escape close to Delhi, what exactly do we or more specifically, I look for :

1) A hill station cool enough and free from heat and humidity of the plains
2) Full of greenery and free of concrete to soothe our eyes
3) Free from pollution, noise and hustle-bustle of city life preferably offbeat location
4) Presence of a water body – a lake or river is a bonus
5) Adventure activities and beautiful long walks to unwind oneself
6) A hotel or resort which should be clean, hygenic and have good location and service
7) Most importantly, it should be within driving distance of Delhi (6-7 hours) so as to enjoy a 2N/3D weekend.

A dream fulfilled!

After reaching Leh, detailed in the previous post,  all we did was relax and rest.  We had plans to ride to Khardung La the next day and needed to conserve all the energy we would need and some more to be able to reach there.  we informed the hotel to arrange a permit for the three of us to be able to go to Khardung La the next day and we crashed after that… slept like a log and finally, woke up at about 0700 the next day.

Chomu Palace, Chomu, Rajasthan – Review

September 16, 2009 By: nandanjha Category: Hotel, Rajasthan

The new New Honda City needed a long haul, probably a more honest statement would be that its driver was looking for a drive so when an opportunity came knocking, it was hard to refuse. We were to go to ‘Chomu Palace’, in Chomu, Rajasthan (near Jaipur) to see if its a good enough venue to host a big press conference. Apparently a bulk of shooting of Zee’s new serial, ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ happened here so it would have made a perfect site to host the opening conference. It was an important thing to attend to and one should not refuse (I would have still gone, even if we had to go to find out whether its more of Pinkish-Red or Reddish-pink though). So we went and I thought that I would share a quick review and pics for any fellow Ghumakkar.
