An Idyllic Holiday beyond Dhanaulti |
Hello friends - My first ever attempt to share my travel experience anywhere… I will appreciate any feedback / appreciation. This was my 3rd or 4th visit to this place, I stay out of India and will ensure that whenever I get a chance I do visit this mesmerizing mountainous region. Guys, you must try a resort called Jharipani (this is close to JP Massouri hotel). This resort is made in small Swiss tents and offers very clean and different accommodation, you have option of eating home cooked food made at the resort
Anyways moving to Dhanaulti .. We stayed over night at this resort and imprudently decided to travel where the road takes us , We had no Idea about where we will stay and eat etc … To our good luck we found a nice guest house ( I am not sure if it is a guest house !! ) close to the main attraction point just before Dhanaulti.
We quickly checked with a person passing by about it and were told that we can stay there if we pay “little something” to the keeper … So we did .. just 1000 rupees for a big 2 bedroom house with dining hall and kitchen was a steal plus this guy arranged for some bon fire for us with in the room. There was no electric supply till that place yet , only option for light was the generator which had no fuel … so a nice candle light dinner with Jack Daniel on the rock made the night rocking …..
I clicked few picture from that place …It’s heaven… I wish I could go there every weekend

View from our abode
PS : I guess some Mr. Negi from Dehradun owns that place , see if you can get lucky to find that place , please remember to take some food stuff and soft drinks etc coz you will not get anything there …. Do your own thing …………….

Welcome aboard Amit.
Lovely pics and I guess you had lot of fun. There is not much habitation on Mussorrie-Dhanaulti-Chamba road so armed with a pic, one might be able to spot Negi’s house :) so someone can try his luck, since the place at that prices looks really attractive.
Some more info would be more helpful.

I keep on going to Mussorie on official visits and have heard about Jharipani, but owing to time constraints never had an occasion to take a detour to Jharipani. Next time I am around, I would try to explore the area.
Beautiful pictures and good first attempt.
Would look forward to your next post.

Many thanks Guys for your encouragement …
